Step 1: Your artwork is prepared

It all starts with your design — a logo, sketch, or photo. Vector files (SVG, AI, PDF) are ideal because they scale perfectly. Raster images need to be large enough (500px or more on the short side) for crisp detail. Our design checker reviews your upload automatically for resolution, colors, and fine detail before anything else happens.

Step 2: Digitizing — turning artwork into stitch code

A digitizer converts your design into embroidery machine language: which stitches go where, at what angle, in what order. This is the most skilled step — it decides whether a patch looks crisp or muddy. That's also why limiting colors matters: patches with 8 or fewer thread colors stitch cleaner and cost less.

Step 3: Stitching on the embroidery machine

The digitized file runs on multi-head embroidery machines with colored threads loaded in order. Each color change is a separate thread setup — another reason extra colors raise the price. Density and tension are tuned so the patch feels solid and the edges stay clean.

Step 4: Trimming, cutting and backing

Once stitched, patches are cut to shape, edges are finished, and the backing is applied — iron-on, sew-on, or velcro, whichever you chose. Borders are stitched to protect the edge from fraying over years of wear.

Step 5: Quality check and dispatch
