Custom Patch Size Guide: What Size Patch Do I Need?
Patch size controls both the look and the price. Here is how our sizes map to real garments — and what each costs to make.

Which size for which garment?
- Hats and caps: 1.5"–2.5" (Small). Anything bigger overwhelms the crown.
- Shirt chest: 3"–4" (Small to Medium).
- Jacket upper arm / shoulder: 3"–5" (Medium).
- Jacket or vest back: 5"–12" (Large to Extra Large). The classic biker layout is a Large center patch plus two Small side patches.
- Bags and backpacks: 2"–4" (Small to Medium) depending on the panel.
Three rules before you order
- Measure the actual garment area with a ruler — don't guess from a photo.
- Keep text and fine details large enough: lettering under 0.25" doesn't stitch cleanly.
- Bigger patches cost more per unit, but bulk quantities bring the per-patch price down fast.
